What does the 997TT need to have?

Because of ever increasing safety & emissions regulations cars are getting heavier, not lighter. That is a fact, not just with Porsche, but all cars. I do think that Porsche needs to stick their head up and see the automotive landscape around and realize that if the 997 TT has 480 hp, that is a huge disappointment & letdown. It should have 500 to 500+ hp. DSG is a good transmission choice. They should have a 6 speed manual unit as well. If they mess around and offer a 460 hp unit, but then a 500 hp "S" model, I don't think too many people would be very happy.

They'll make the same money or more either way .The 996 Turbo powerkit buyer only got back 20% or less of the $17K at trade in. So they pissed off BOTH buyer groups - great way to build repeat business- not .

I would like to see a 997TT (RS America version) that is decontented like a GT2 but costs less than a regular 997TT.....not more!!!! Weight savings, suspension improvements, etc.
Or I will settle for an ejection seat and some rocket launchers.

I would like to see some OEM seats that have harness pass-through holes. And maybe some non-power versions that weigh less than 70 pounds each.
Would also like intercooller intakes to look more integrated instead of some routered holes with a funnel stuck over them.

It's pretty difficult. The TT is such a perfect compromise nowadays. Of course, it's easy to make it a GT2 Clubsport equivalent ... but it's not what a TT is supposed to be anymore.
I'd still make it more easily "trackable", with reversible enhanced driving experience, with possibility of completely disconnecting ABS and PSM, 2WD at the flick of a switch, and useful ceramic brakes, adjustable suspension (again at the flick of a switch, with electrically adjusted damping and ride height ... if GM can do it ...).
Styling wise, better integrated intake scoops, and keep it simple and classy ... like the 997. Interior needs some de-cluttering ... but I'm dreaming here.
I have to second Y65MPH ... a lighter simpler model would be interesting.
