Official Upsolute Dyno Results....

Ok...I went down to vist the guys at AWE this am. First off, I want to thank the guys over there for squeezing me in on such short notice! A great bunch of guys and very impressive shop to say the least!

Now, on to what you've all been waiting for! Hopefully, this will put the Upsolute "false power claims" to bed (for me at least).

After the car was strapped on the Mustang Dyno and the 1st pull was performed, I had a chance to go back and see the other 2 runs and was extremely pleased with the end results!

559.62 Flywheel Max Power @ 6500 RPM
570.75 Flywheel Max Torque @ 4500 RPM

They didnt print out my A/F chart, but I got it on Video (will post one of these days) and to top it all off...the car ran nice and rich...11.8-12.3 at WOT.

Now I never had the car dynoed before the mods, so maybe my car had a very strong engine to begin with...but all in all, that's very impressive for just an ecu and exhaust (let alone stock turbos)...makes me think I have an X50?!?!??! Could Porsche have made a mistake and sold me an X50 for a non X50 price?!?!?

I'll post the graph once I take my scanner out of the box!

My mods include just the ecu and custom fabricated exhaust with 85 mm tips from DAVID in Virginia aka Cobra 06 (on rennlist and 6 speed).

What I found interesting was that the car got stronger after each pull...could it be b/c of the thermal wraps from exhaust?

Anyway, Kudos to Upsolute and David VA for his exhaust!!! Just when I thought I would get around 500 HP, I get a surprising 560!!!! I cant speak for other Upsolute owners that have had issues, but, proof is in the pudding on this one!

I will bring the printed graph as well as the video with me to the meet on Sunday for anyone that wants to see.

Hmmm...now if I really want to go huge...looks like I would have to go straight to a stage V!

Duane..

wheel numbers were...

437.2 Max Power
445.9 Max Torque

The Head Technician at AWE informed me that the Loss factor on the Mustang dyno is 1.28. I'll trust their judgement on that one.

Well, the Upsolute chip is consistent. On the same AWE's Mustang 4 wheel dyno:

Mine is a '01 regular (non X50) 996TT. With just the chip and no other performance mods (I do have the Baily DVs), the peak numbers are:

400 HP
432 lb ft of torque

I do want to compare/contrast the GIAC across the entire curve instead of quoting peak numbers. One of these days, I will have to go down there and compare the two back to back. Which version of the Upsolute are you running? My test was with version 3.0 but I hear they have version 4 out.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I am running their V4 (better AF curve). There is a V5 for those with additional mods (exhaust, air filter, etc).

I spoke to Ron and he did mention that you had good numbers with the ecu as well.

Are you going to the meet this Sunday? I'll have my chart and video.

The curve is is beautiful...as the RPMs build, so does the power, very linear with no dips, etc.

Torque starts to level off at 4700 and drops under 400 by 5900 RPMS.

Pretty impressive numbers for just unichip and exhaust. Which version of David's exhaust are you running? Also can you post a copy of the graph! One more question what gear were the pulls done in?

BCS996TT,

I won't be there this Sunday. Would love to but family commitment and besides, Ken doesn't want me there anyway...

Just kidding Ken...

Enjoy yourself and let me know how your car keeps up with the others.

These are with the Upsolute chip and not the UNICHIP. The pull on my car was done in 4th gear...

Duane, it's an Upsolute chip. Im running David's version 8.0 with 85 mm tips. The sound is fantastic and power is good. The dyno pulls were in 4th gear.

BCS996TT

On behalf of everyone who does have the UpSolute, and myself, we thank you for the great information. UpSolute's literature says 510 HP with a stock TT but I just assumed that it was optimistic. Glad to see that they are actually right on.
I will see you Sunday. If no one else sets up a meet - how about the Sunoco Station at Exit 1 of the Palisades - at 7 AM?

David
