I have a similar build to your car, based on your signature. I'm running the X50s and I'm told they are to restrictive, so I'll be upgrading as well. I haven't decided yet, but I'm leaning towards EVOMS or AWE. Keep in mind that if you go with anything larger than the stock sized core, you'll have to modify the ducting to fit the intercooler.

Ducting is my concern as well as how best to install intakes in the rear ducts - I want to do both! There have recently been some good threads on this that searching ought to find but for sure upgrading is a good idea - stock and X50 have proven restrictive as has at least one aftermarket unit mentioned in one of the threads.

Protomotive 5", they offer a stock style intake that uses flex tubing that runs on the backside of the motor.

I would like to see some results from the Evoms and the Awe intercoolers with durametric to compare with my intercoolers.I have a friend who builds intercoolers for a famous German tuner and we tested some today.
With GT2 IC intake temperature raised with 38 degrees celcius at 280km/h above outside temp and with new IC temp. raised with 20 degrees celcius above outside temp.So it's 18 degrees cooler.
A=time
B=RPM
C=IAT celcius
D=outside temp.
E=speed
F= turbo pressure (1000=0bar , 2000 is 1 bar)
I have K16/24 at 1-1.1 bar

EVOMS Clubsport Intercoolers are a great option. Details listed below.

-33% larger core than OEM GT2 intercooler core
-Flows 36-49% more air than OEM 996TT/GT2 Intercoolers
-Direct replacement for the OEM intercoolers
-Extremely efficient closely stacked bar and plate type core design
-Reduced pressure drops while maximizing heat dissipation
-3-D CAD designed cast aluminum / CNC machined end tanks offer a perfect OEM fit while maximizing flow and efficiency. (Inlet end tank have approximately 200% more volume. Outlet end tank has approximately 60% more volume)
-Improved boost response as well as increased mid to top end power & torque

We've sold these to numerous forum members who have been very pleased with the quality, results and fitment. Please pm me for latest pricing.

We recently began selling the EVO IC's to go with our Y-Pipe kit. They are beautifully constructed and designed to accomodate larger boost hoses, so if / when one wants to upgrade to larger boost hoses, enlarged Y-Pipe and throttle body, the IC's are sized accordingly. They are a really nice choice.

My car made better power with EVO ICs and John's Y-pipe. GIAC was able to go a bit more aggressive on the tune. The car gained HP and torque across the rev range. Additionally, the curve shows that the car is running much healthier with more overhead and is less likely to pull timing due to being close to heat or detonation margins.

I think anyone in the market should consider the following IC vendors: EVO, AWE and 911 Tuning (Markski). I like the fact that EVO and Markski can run larger diameter silicone piping and remove the stock connectors and the choke points if you choose.

Speedtech has a nice look inside the IC piping restriction points on their site.
