Good question and I plan on asking that when I talk with them soon. If not, then maybe they can custom valve something but that is another ball of wax...

Boomers996tt is infamous around these parts
Interested in what you find out from JIC/Cross.

Not to change subject, but tires are a big part of suspension. Ran Toyo R888's and Nitto NT01's on the MCS. Are these tires good choices for track duty with the 996tt?

Cheers!

From what I've read, the JICS come as they are. Which means the manufacturer expects you to be able to adjust the compression and rebound speed independant of springs, which as most of us know, is not an optimum solution.

Personally I don't think JICs are the "better" solution out there... Yes they have camber plates, and yes you get some spring options...I just don't think you're getting a great track weekend package out of the strut... I also don't think PSS9s/PS10s would be a great alternative... They're both pretty much "low level" in the realm of "Track weekend suspensions".

If you're serious about tracking your car, you shouldn't have the crap I have on my car!

Come on Mike. You and Jon both run PSS9's and doing well on them. Are the higher end coilovers really that much better for a few events a year? I suspect if you and Jon were really that concerned, you would have switched a long time ago. Just an observation...

In my current skill level, I might as well flush several grand down the toilet to get the extra 5-10% better setup from the high end setup. I doubt I will ever be in a position where the 90% in JIC's or PSS9's would not be enough for me...

That is just my $.02. Yeah, if I was made of cash, I would do the best. But I have to be realistic and get what is going to cover 90% of what I will actually use and easy for me to setup and adjust without having an expert involved each event.

So, back to reality, most of us will never get to a level where these lower cost coilovers will not be enough. Especially when some of the two top track guys on the forums are running them (You and Jon)... And I about forgot about Tom Kerr - he runs JIC's I think...

I just hope to find a winning lotto ticket on the ground and then I will go all out! lol

OK I spoke with Jon at JIC tonight. He said that running the stiffer springs did not need to have any difference in the body. He said that unless you go over 14kg on the front and 28kg on the rear, that they would handle it fine.

He said they could change the oil in the strut to change the settings if needed...

He also said they are gearing up for their new designs for launch this spring. They are redesigning everything in their setups he said. He also mentioned that the price point would also be lower, but did not know exactly. He said they were moving production from overseas to the US!

He also said that it would take a few weeks once an order was placed to get the coilovers produced and delivered. Not sure if any vendors have the 10kg/14kg coilovers in stock. Please chime in if you have any on the shelf!

So there you have it from the owner of JIC himself!

I must be one of the lucky ones, 3 years on with KW V3, regularly street driven (DD) and tracked (at least 12 times across the year/s) and to date, flawless. Now lets see if the 3-ways are just as good
