The other fond memory of my 930 was the little voice on my shoulder at track days, incessantly whispering into my ear: "Don't lift......Don't lift.......Don't lift"
These cars are no where near as violent as the old 930's. Mine had a lot of mods and a K29 and was a handful.

Just to be clear, you don't have to keep rpms below 3500, just don't put your foot to the floor and hold it there as your rpms build past 3500. Feel free to wind it out a little, just not with your foot pinned to the floor.

If you really wanted to give your self hard limit, put your dash indicator on boost and keep it below 0.3 bars of boost.

Again, welcome to 996TT club. It's a fun place to be.

Just take it easy and never go out after rain during those temps and you should be fine.

Mike, your old car or it's twin is a track regular down here. I love that car, sounds good too.

Thanks Larry. One of the VERY few cars I've regretted selling.

Those 930's have that effect on you. I spent years and thousands chasing down a detonation problem and finally had enough. Also, I live in a small town and if you are in the car more than 15 minutes or so, you missed where you were going. About the same amount of time it took for the oil to get up to temp. So quick errands always took three times as long for some reason

I do miss her though.

Update:

250 Miles and she is home safe. Roads were dry, salty and cold. The Conti's in the rear need to be replaced, and yet the car was very stable. Thanks to the advice here I kept the boost under .3bar and had no problems. Well.... almost no problems. I "accidentally" brought it up to .5 bar which was a mistake. Because now I want 50 degree weather to really open her up and its only January.... aarrrgggghhh.

One quick question for you guys. I can buy two new rear tires (Conti's) to match the fronts which are good for $660. Or, I can four Sumitro HRZ III's for about the same price. Figure I can sell the front conti's for a little money as well. Thoughts?
