brake light fixture in aftermarket decklids?
Have the mashaw 996tt decklid for a fixed Cup type wing.
The brakelight in the OEM decklid is kept in place with a metal bracket held in by 2 10mm bolts (under decklid lining). don't see provisions for this bracket in the mashaw lid.
There is a moulded in FRP bracket seen inside the decklid, as seen in attached photo. Doesn't look like it's there for added strength, nor looks like the OEM bracket is supposed to be re-used.
Looks like I'll have to custom fab a bracket to mount on the FRP bracket.
Advice is welcome.![Confused](https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
TIA

When I had the MaShaw wing on my 996C2 and the Precision Porsche wing on my Turbo, you had to dremel a bit on the side where the tab goes in. Then slide the light in place and turn the locking piece to secure it.

I checked mine out and I don't have the bracket you show in the pic (mine is an early full carbon fiber decklid/wing).
My 3rd brakelight is held in place with a screw, washer and nut on one end.

thanks guys. tried to contact mashaw but i dont think he checks email often.
Tried the stock light in the mashaw decklid and the sliding lock on the brakelight unit held it inplace. not sure how secure it is though.
havent tried the smoked aftermarket unit yet.
RiA - not sure what you mean by panel washer and screw, you mean the locking mechanism on the brake units or something else?
thanks
