The bigger the tire the more important it is to use roadforce- especially truck tires.

I've never road force balanced a car tire- usually if the shop has a really nice non-roadforce balancer it turns out perfect. I personally use Stokes in Santa Monica. They are able to mount tires without damaging rims... Which is important!

This is a great topic.. My A4 has had the tires balanced about 5 times in 6 months, how do you know if the shop uses "Road Force" balance techniques? Does the machine look different from a traditional machine. Sorry for what seems like a stupid question.

Ask?

The machine is a "Hunter GSP9700" and will have 9700 on the side of it.

Looks wise, there is a roller that can contact the tire while the tire is turning, but the machine doesn't look dramatically different to someone not used to looking at tire machines. If you look in a tire shop, the one machine with more 'stuff' on it will be the 9700.

Just as an FYI- a 9700 will check wheel run out, both axial and radial..so if you wheel is tweaked, it will fail to roadforce properly... they can do their best, but you will find that bending wheels is easy....
