On the issue of jewelry , I doubt the demographics of a base Vette buyer is one who flashes expensive watches and jewelry .
Most all were touch-of-grey/ white sneakers /jeans/Tshirt / Timex guys here in Silicon Valley when I owned a C5 in 97/98 and hung out at get togethers. Not a Guido in the bunch.

Oh, is that what Fred's doing? Hiding it? I gotta follow suit
The Valley up here is different from the Valley down south. In North Valley everyone wears khakis/jeans/T's or polos. We tend to cover up our chest hair (if any) instead of exposing it.
I've noticed some of the 6 speeders here have shaved heads ...hmmm.... I wonder how many of them are hiding creeping baldness .

I was sitting at the light the other nite when an esp slimey looking character with way too much hairdye pulls up along side me. He was in a brand new c6, bright ,bright blue. He signals me too roll down the window, then he says "So, do you want to run me?"
You gotta be shisting me this guy was at least 60yo! I just said 'No that's ok', then he attempts to peal out and kills it.
This happened at 10pm in Old Brookeville, LI.
Unbelievable

I love Vettes and have many friends who drive Vettes. I want another Vette (C6 Z06) as well but ... I must admit, this is funny stuff.
I can just picture this guy. "My Vette Makes Them Wet"

Man, I'm in the same boat exactly. I have looked at C5's several times in the past including the Z06, then went again to check out the C6. The dealer nearby has mirrors and I saw myself sitting in this C6 and thought.... "OMG... this car is so NOT you!"
When I see a vette, even though it's a damn good car, I can't get the stigma out of my head of, "Old, divorced, chain wearing, earing havin', hair-piece dude."
Not to mention just plain guido.

But...I will say I owned a C5 for a year and had a blast with it. Also, I've met some stereotypical Vette owners, BMW owners, Porsche owners, S2000 owners, etc. Each sportscar brings with it it's own humorous owner-stigma to observe, and each has it's own driving personality. I think they're all fun in one way or another. I'm glad I tried that Vette, and I'd bet the C6 is fun too, the next Z06 will be too. If I had it my way, I'd have 6 sportscars at once, each totally different. Maybe someday down the road.
