Anyone See This? This is RIP Ben right?

Given the situation, I don't think any of us need to argue about anything. Let's all try to move along and remember that terrible things can and do happen to great people.

I agee in some cases but the F430 was given the OK to proceed. I am not saying to stop this type of evebts. I run my car too. But someone made a big mistake. Should single guys without kids be the only ones who can sign up for these events? I have been racing all of my life, bikes, motorcycles and cars. Seen a lot of cr$p over the years.
I just wanted to say that I was not directing my post at yours alone. It was more of a blanket post on the many that I had read before.
I have more to say on this, but I agree with you robertp, I don't like the way this one is headed and will hold it for a thread where the main topic is track accidents. My thoughts go out to both families.

By those comments above, this is no different than My sister-inlaw's lawsuit against a trucking company who's driver hit her from behind. She was stopped with her left turn signal on waiting to make a left hand turn, when a Scheider Trucking driver with full load hit her doing about 45mph. The impact knocked her into oncoming traffic, head on...Double impact, first from the truck, and then from a honda accord travelling 55mph. Since 2007 she has been thru multiple surgeries and was paralized from the mid-chest down for life... She was 46 when the accident happened and she had a career, a family and was a brand new grandmother.
Yea, life happens... The driver of that truck left less than 40 feet of skidmark on a relatiively straight road. The driver of the truck apparently was F'n around with a cellphone/pda... In the subsiquent stress of dealing with all of this "life happening" my brother inlaw had a heart attack from all the stress... But hey "life happened" and I guess he should just "man up"...
Here's what REALLY happened and I'm damned glad it did... The judge made sure to factor in the many surgeries she would surely encounter over the rest of her life. The judge factored in the wages she would surely lose for the rest of her life. The judge factored into the settlement the fact that her home was no longer livable for a person wheelchair bound for life. The judge then factored into account the quality of her life that she and her family lost.
Life in this case happened with a multimillion dollar settlement that she and her family, and all of her extended family would gladly give back if she could return to the life she had before her accident. But hey, life just "happened".
No, some of you can be as cavalier as you wish with your lives, because the realities of life have fallen in your favor to this point... The rest of us will work well within the legal system to litigate the realities of life just happening.

Can a Miata reach 100+ mph?.......kidding aside, tragic story and a risk we all take when traveling at high speeds on a controled course or on public roads! Be safe friends and may God bless all the speed lovers!
