I used Epoxy on mine. Even had it "professionally" done. The "professional" did the acid wash and all times and steps per the mfg suggestions on the label. What he did not do well enough was to rinse the acid completely (I mean at least an hour of rinsing. If you don't get the acid completely out of the pores of the floor, it will eventually peel. I could give you the explanation from the factory, but it would take too long.

Moral of the story: Over rinse.

Scotty-boy, good to see you haven't lost your sense of humor. When mom sat on Santa's lap she got what she wanted for Christmas, and so did he.

If you put down race deck, you might want to put an adhesive under it. I was coming in a little "hot" and hit the brakes and the car stopped but the deck proceeded to buckle in front of the car. Another couple of inches and I would have car wall impact.

On the other hand, if you're not stupid, you might not have this problem.
Ken, Sounds like what you did would cause that to any snap-lock style tile, I dont pull into the garages HOT.

Rustoleum makes a professional grade 2 stage primer and 2 stage epoxy coat system. Can be purchased through Grainger company. This is NOT the stuff you get a Home Depot and works awesome but must be applied professionally. (or at least with great attention to detail and perfect floor prep). Between the primer layer and the topcoat layer it runs roughly $10/sq foot and is applied 100 sq/feet at a time. I used this in my shop and it gets heavy traffic, some oil, brake fluid and coolant spillage and the integrity has been excellent. For high traffic shops it usually needs a light top coat every 6 months as it will get surface scratches but for a home garage i suspect you'll never need to touch it once applied.

I always wondered how the racedeck, etc handle water and dirt, especially the tiles that are like grating.

This is what I did....

The garage has changed a little but the floor is the same. I have it stripped and polished once a year.
i was at davids house doing some work in his garage, and it was so simple to clean up,and it looks grat!!
