thanks, i hope so too! he does offer a refund also. but it wasn't his fault, so i feel stupid returning a $150 part. as many guys as i know that have spoiler issues, someone will probably need it, maybe even me down the road. i'm just really surprised that more guys haven't fixed ( or had them fixed ) by going inside the system and messing with it.

i watched the entire process, and although i could never have done it myself/alone ( four hands will help since part of the process is draining the rams of excess fluid ).. it wasn't rocket science either. BTW.. i "borrowed" someone's DIY off of here or another site.. so, if anyone ever need the full step by step on the "spoiler ram rebleed repair", hit me up. i can email it or possibly post it. two days of a lot of +75mph spoiler activity. so far, so good

I think more guys haven't fixed it because they don't want to deal with it again. It appears it's one of the weak points in the car where the rams will eventually leak (even if it's repaired for now). I also think there are folks who just prefer the wing up look and so fixing the wing up is a cosmetic improvement. I know my son had always requested the wing up when we parked the car -- of course, he's 14.

absolutely, and who among us doesn't want our hydraulics to rise and fall at will.

Dealer part cost is $720 per cylinder and there are two in the system but both don't often eat at the same time. Also, the pump assembly is is $1360 if that is needed and all of that is before labor. Yikes!

Does anyone know what fluid is in the system??

Unfortunately, price sounds about right. My local dealer said that the parts aren't even available separately anymore. It's $2K+ for the whole assembly (not including labor).

I believe the system uses Pentosin (CHF11S).
