Flash next?

I'm seriously thinking the Flash is next. There is only one tuner in my area and he has been pressuring me to do the GIAC flash. They of course are offering 25% off right now, but $1500 smackers is still a lot of jack for an unknown boost in drivability/fun.

I do not drive my car at the limit like most of you, so the peak hp/tq #s don't mean a lot to me. Now if it would give me a solid boost in the midrange, without affecting fuel mileage too much, I'd do it. My tuner tells me this is in fact what I will get. Do others agree?

STL , its not about peak HP , its about steady horse power curve all teh way to red line.more power under the curve.

In my opinion, Giac cant offer you the support you will need if anything goes wrong .i would consider Protomotive, EVO , etc etc

as for fuel mileage , it will raise boost so yeah it will effect it a bit , but mainly its how you drive it .

and anotherthing .... .you have a porsche turbo and your worried about fuel mileage ????

I'd forget about an intake. None of them are going to make much, if any, difference in sound. I don't think I'd use any tuner who's trying to pressure you into something. I'd look into a Proto or one of the other recommended tunes. I wouldn't mess with GIAC IMO.

I had GIAC...it (was) an off the shelf program that was fine if you didn't change any hardware....as soon as I did that I got a (more) custom tune to go with the rest (from Kevin).

dude-
No disrespect intended, but if you are worried you won't get a bang for your buck by dropping 1500 for a remap, the last thing you want to think about is an intake. It is a law of dininishing returns.
$5,000 and get you about 500 at the wheels.
Double that money for for 50% more,
Double it again for another 15%,
Double it AGAIN for 10% more on top of that.

Fuzzy math maybe but you should get the point!
