well done.
p.s. an engine builder/ gt cup race car owner told me once.. " the trick with 996 turbos is to produce large amounts of power at lower boost levels... and not the other way around...." something to think about... His race car took 2nd place at the Lemans in France 2 yeras ago.

You got that right........he/she who makes the most power with the same boost wins...every time!
Sometime soon there will be a series of 996TT's making significantly more power than stock, and with the same boost as stock!
Anyone have a collection of awhp dyno charts and timeslips that can be posted? It would be good to see the improvement in times with higher and higher hp levels.
Keep em burning Sharky...yeehah!

Hi guys,
Here's that 10 second pass, congrats to James, Mike, Todd, Garret and the gang....

We'll call this a "low boost" run and look forward to seeing what can be done when Garret fine tunes it for high boost

The next step is to do rods and get my high boost working right after Garret has his way with it early next year... I'm hoping to do low 10s at 135 or so. That'd be neat
Otherwise it's strictly road racing

Running larger turbos or opening up the head will do what you speak of. I don't think more lag would be inviting to most.
However, running less boost is probably easier on the motor for long road racing sessions so that I agree with but not the way you two have put it. You build a car for its application. Alex's high boost issues have nothing to do with what you speak of once he works out the ECU kinks.

hey Sharky! ... from reading the above messages... they say that you cool down your intercoolers with NOS. is that correct? If yes- did you use it on the previous runs where you did 11.05sec.
One more thing. Im confused.... I thought that 21 psi (1.4 bars) is alot for our cars. What is you plan for HIGH boost? my computer goes into limp mode after it detects 1.3 bars.
Also... do you peak 21 psi or it stays at 21.
I'm wondering what your car would do (1/4 mile) if it was a 6 speed?
sorry for all the questions... Im just trying to find out what others like yourself are doing.
