EVO/SharkWerks Stage 4 Clutch and LWFW - impressions
Just had my clutch and flywheel replaced at SharkWerks.
Previous setup:
Alex, James and Dan did a great job with my new setup. You can't get better customer service or support than going to SharkWerks or EVOMS.
BTW, I stalled it first time pulling out
Previous setup:
- EVO Stage 3
- OEM DM flywheel
- EVO GT2 Hydraulic conversion
- Pedal pressure was hard (but doable)
- Modulation: on/off
- Engagment was high
- Held very well for my power level
- Longevity - 15k + miles
- EVO Stage 4
- EVO LW flywheel
- EVO GT2 Hydraulic conversion
- Pedal pressure is like GT2/3/RS
- Modulation: smooth
- Engagement is lower (similar to stock level)
- LW flywheel enables the rpm to climb very quickly (resurfaceable as well)
- Like others have stated - rattling noise at idle when at temp
- Holding capabilities (still breaking in clutch - to be tested)
- Longevity - longer life expectancy

I need to do two things Eugene before I can comment:
1. Clutch Break-in
2. Different fuel
I'll need a couple weeks before I can test out the race file - but I'll post my observations once I've had a chance...

So why is the stage 4 requiring less pedal pressure than the stage 3? i thought it would be the other way around.

Well it's a bit more expensive than the 3 that most folks do.. But it's not using the clutchmasters stuff for starters I've never really liked the way those fit/feel... The reworked pressure plates often result in such a stiff pedal

I guess the trick is to stay out of lower rpm and just get on it hard in first

I would like to get a LWFW next time I need a clutch.

What is the TQ that the stage 4 will hold?
