Need Help Finding Duct Part for '03

My 2003 996 Turbo was “curbed” (before I bought it) and a piece of plastic ducting underneath the back of the front bumper was damaged. I have tried to find the correct part by looking through the parts catalog, looking at the service manual, and asking Suncoast for some help. Unfortunately, I still can’t figure out what the part number is for the part I need to replace. The car does not have the X50 package, as I understand that option comes with some different ducting.

The picture is all that’s left of the part that was damaged. The photo was taken viewing the top of the part. The square shaped lip (right side of photo) faces forward. The clip nut is on the left most side of the piece. The scoop opens down and towards the back of the car. About all you can see of this part when mounted are the scoops which hang out about an inch below the back of the bumper cover and exhaust air towards the back of the car (the part sits horizontal on the car as it is being held in the picture). There is supposed to be another scoop about 12 to 18 inches to the right of this one, but that one was completely torn away, and all that remained on the car was a piece of plastic under the right side clip nut. There were also a couple of plastic tabs that are situated towards the back of the piece and evenly spaced between the clip nuts. Those tabs are screwed to the car with screws, but only the tabs and screws remain.

The car works fines without the duct, but if I can figure out what the part number is, I’ll probably go ahead and replace it. For those of you that my have a parts catalog, it is not #996 575 161 01. That is a vertical piece of ductwork with four similar looking ducts that directs the air downward from behind the center radiator. The part I’m looking for mounts just under this vertical piece of ducting.

Any help or suggestion of possible part numbers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for looking but unfortunately that's not it. That part is the "vertical" duct that sits behind the radiator and forces the air down under the car. The part I need is not depicted in the above diagram, but marries up with #18 underneath it. The "scoop" in my photo matches up with the opening of the far right upside down "U" looking channel in #18 (actually on the left side of the car) and bends the air 90 degrees so the air flows back and not down.

While I said in my original post that there was one other scoop that was missing, in reality there are probably 2 or maybe even 3 more. When I marry up the part I have with #18 above, it would make sense that there are probably either 3 or 4 scoops; one for each of the channels in #18 above. I'm not sure if it's 3 or 4 from looking under the car as the far right side of #18 is shaped differently from the left side.

I think in fact that may be it. I saw that part originally but didn't think it was the correct one based on how little I have left remaining of mine. After giving it some more consideration, that's got to be it, and who ever "curbed" the car before I bought it must have really done a number on it based on what's left.

Only another $70 for a thin piece of plastic . . .

Thanks for your help!

Cool, no problem. I wonder if the previous owner went a bit to far parking and put the front end over one of those parking stops. When backing up I could see it ripping stuff right off the bottom.
