have 11k on mine and only one problem, window leaking, but man oh man is it an suv!! Nothing else out there that comes close...the lr3, why?? when you can pick up a used range rover for a little more. I would say you should be paying in the upper fifties for a low mileage one. Their are a lot of buy back 03's beware, some are actually amazing buys, depending on the buy back, while others aren't. If you want more info on that pm me. But my vote goes to buying one!

comfortable ride, handles like **** in the turns...kind of like a rolling toaster on the road test review I saw. If that is not a concern, great truck...If you want the best SUV handling and hp, nothing like a Cayenne TT.

I had a 92 county for ten years and loved it. I bought 2003 Range Rover when it first came out. So far so good except the rattling at times. I was invited to attend their Range Rover experience. I was so amazed for this new RR can do off road. Purchasing new can offer you hugh tax benefit if you use it for business. Good luck shopping.

I have an 04 with 12,000 miles and no problems. I was concerned initially about reliability but it has been as trouble free as my Lexus LX470 that it replaced. There will be some significant changes for 06 beyond just the Jaguar powertrain. The Nav. system sucks, stereo is great, very solid vehicle.

John,

I am in the same boat. 2003's with good color and 20,000 miles have sold between 50 and 52 on EBAY. They are selling for 54-56 at dealerships in my area. I was away from my computer and missed bidding on a Black 2003 in San Diego that sold for 50,100. Some good deals on EBAY but only from private parties.

Good Luck

It's not a concern. If I want the best feel in handling on a given day, I'll drive the TT.

If I want to soak up the bumps, see over the traffic, enjoy the music, haul the family who don't like .9g turns, I'll take the Rover.

Cayenne TT is best for someone who can't afford a TT also. No need to drive a SUV like a boxster.

Agree on all points, Collin.

I love the new RRover. Ballers love 'em. Would roll it on 23" MOMOs. Stock just does not cut it.

Classy car. Great ride. I'd take one over a C-TT anyday. Too much of the VW body connection. Though I do fully understand it drives superbly for an SUV... more like a sports sedan. Also, interior small like a sedan.

LR3

The LR3 has more room inside, with a 3rd row optional. I haven't driven one, but it is supposed to ride as well as the RR. You could get a new LR3 for the price of the used RR, and be protected under your state's lemon law. The trade-off is that the interior isn't as luxurious.

LR3 is nice and utilitarian but people usually get the DISCO because they couldn't afford the RR. The RR is all class. There is no substitute for its looks and ride. Not even a CTT.

Wait a minute...i thought the new range rover is just the sport 'version' and that they are still going to produce the hse....am i wrong?? Because that new rover is totally different, smaller and more powerful, I would think that they would keep the hse as the elegant more traditional range rover...
Also, the momo wheels are awesome! I want to get some hre's with a black center and chrome lip. But i'm worried on loosing ride quality, so I have to see what the best size is...23''s will definitely be sacrificing ride quality!

I took delivery of one of the first 03's to land in LA and had lots of small problems with it initially. wind noise : replaced the windshield 3 times. The rear windows still leak and it eats tires! A lot of the problems that i experienced were probably early production problems. The Goodyears that come with it suck. The Michelins are suppossed to be better. I had a 540i and it is the exact same drivetrain; nav unit, shifter, switches, etc. It's a classy ride but the dealer experience and maintenance cost is terrible.

Speaking of depreciation. I bought my wife an 03 Disco, sticker price of 36,500. I bought the car at an auction in Florida for 19,250. Car had 12k when I bought it and it was PERFECT! Also was less than 12 months since in service date....

I have an 04 with 11k miles and havent had a problem. Get it with the stock 20's and it improves the ride considerably. The new Ranges don't depreciate much at all. Most of what you hear is people talking about the old Rangies that did have a bunch of problems. Go for it...you'll love the truck.
