Alpha 28's vs Alpha 3071 or Tial 3071
Has anyone have had Aplha 28's swapped out for the bigger Alpha 3071 or Tial 3071.
What are your thoughts?
I'm in the process of getting a new set of turbos. I currently have the first generation Evoms GT28's.
I would still like to have low end power without sacrificing top end.
Thanks in advance!

those 28s are in a K16 housing... going to a 3071 or so will be a big upgrade... you will gain where the 28s dies... but they will not spool up as fast as those k16 based turbos...
either way get some better turbos and call it a day.

Alpha 28's are similar to 18G's, except they spool faster with about the same top end, maybe a little less. Alpha 30's are another world away as far as potential. Don't look at PEAK power, look at the curves. You don't want a mountain "peak' , you want a plateau.

I don't have any experience with any of these turbos, and whenever you see the dynos for them they're always on different boost, fuel, meth, etc...
I'd like to see a direct comparison but I know this won't happen
Cossey's car spools so damn early and the curve is very impressive
Just depends on your application and driving style I guess

Yep, I've read that thread
I think he went from 93 octane to 109 for those dynos and increased boost from 1.4 bar to 1.55bar
Not sure if any hardware was changed?
Was the Water/Meth still 50/50 too?

you will want the 3076's....the 71's wont give you that 'increase' you will be expecting

I'm on stock internals and will not do a motor build until next year. Do you still recommend 3076's?
