I found a specific gear oil I want to use in my diff.. Its weighted 75w/140.. is this safe to use even though the standard weight is 75w/90 in the differentials?

Thanks

Do NOT deviate from the factory DELVAC fill in that box... Search on my trans rebuild nightmare to get a lesson on NOT having to rebuild that box...

Hey Mike, can't find the Mobil DELVAC in Italy but a German seller told me that it has a new name "MOBILUBE 1 SHC 75W90" (fully syntethic gear oil).
Could it be the same oil ?

I am running, Syngear II 80W 140 GL6, in my GT2 which was recommended to me by OSgiken when I installed their LSD. I have 12,000 miles on it with 0 issues.

The builder of my trans recommend that I use http://www.le-inc.com/products.jsp?productID=253

That product you recommend Peter is another I'll have to check out. But unless they have the aftermarket components you and I have, I'd recommend these guys stick with the OEM fill... There are a couple of guys who've switched from the factory fill on stock boxes and found gear engagement to become much more harsh.

I understand peoples concerns about the type of fluid, but my question is the diff compatible with a 75w-140weight vs 75w-90 stock...

I assume no.

I was advised that Castrol 75w/140 was actually better suited for the track and use this full season on track with 2 oil changes and zero issues whatsoever

Thank you for taking the time to give me those references.

Im going to switch the the Willall 75/140 Diff fluid. It was specially formulated for the track and is used religiously in the GTR cars with extensive comparisons and fantastic results..

Cheers
