Who is still using a stock MAF at 550+whp?
#31
Wonder if thats maxed out? I remember a few years back when "550whp was the max on stock MAF." Hopefully Tony can chime in.

But I thought I also recalled that for an early car, originally with a 124.00.....that there was enough dif that a reflash was needed (at least on a stock car) before replacing the 124.00 with 125.00 or 125.01.
I have a couple lines out on this.....someone will set me straight.

Keep in mind that there are other maf "solutions" on the market at the moment...most dont read any more air flow then stock... they just use a sensor thats less prone to failure.

Thats about the limit that the stock MAF can read. We will be releasing a maf solution shortly.

And for those running OE MAF over 550 (and apparently OK).....what's the downside for them?
TIA

The only "down side", (if you want to call it that) is that you "have" to use a stock airbox and some kind of "oil less" filter (stock paper). Tuners will have to chime in on power limitations.

Yes, the best way to run the stock MAF is with a stock air box and filter. I change my filter every 1000/1500 miles and I can tell a difference when new.

I'm just wondering if the blown MAF can affect the out put of the car power.
Here in KUWAIT the porsche dealer is selling the MAF for about 831 USD. So i cant change it every 2 or three weeks. BTW i'm using EVOMS intake sys but gonna change it now to stock.

After blowing a couple MAFs myself with the EVOMS v-flow, I removed it and have had no problems since either. Probably a wise move on your part.

What MAF do you go to if you want to run a AFE, KnN, or BMC type filter?
#42
Until someone comes up with a permanant solution, it seems only a blow through system can accomodate those filters. I think it has been proven that these filters don't provide a huge increase and the stock paper filter and airbox will support whp of up to and over 700whp.

The K&N's and other "oil" filters are what people are saying fouls the MAF. And those filters with NO oil filter nothing. I dyno'd filters and no filter back to back...not worth the aggravation.
