I Remember reading about Flat 8 Racing engines.
I wonder what they sounded like...

Pondered this idea for quite a while actually. I would take out the rear firewall and move it up towards the rear seats, and put a twin turbo hemi in it, either a 528 or 600.
A lot like the Hurst Hemi Under Glass..

Arias based 10L hemi, all aluminum block, running twin GTX4508R's with EFI/standalone setup. E85 and 2000hp

Seems like this company "renegade Hybrids" has lots of V8 conversions on the road.

Also RUF is working on a custom V8. IMO they are spending so much R&D money. The Twin Turbo platform is so robust. Why would RUF want to invent a V8 for it? They can do so many things with existing Porsche technology like GT3 heads on a TT, etc...

The goal of technology is always to fit more power into smaller places. Obviously the 911 provides a perfect sample test ground. Sure, you can run big ole Turbo's, but anyone can do that. Racing is still primarily driven by NA power so putting an NA V8 in the back of a 911 is a serious accomplishment. No one will bat an eye and some stupendously sized turbos on a built engine making 2000 hp (because people are doing it already).
Plus, they are probably trying to beat Porsche to it.

Regardless of what you're putting where, that is a fantastic piece of engineering. Good Luck and a build thread should be welcomed here as well.
Plus Rep.
This should also most definitely have a writeup in a major magazine publication. Make sure you contact someone, I'd certainly buy that issue.
