Jamie,

I use an Electronic Boost Controller (EBC). I can adjust boost anywhere from .8 BAR on up, anytime I choose.

What is involved in doing something like that on say my car?

It's easy. TPC could install it for you.

I think I am going to ask them about it, I forgot to ask in my last post but does the computer compensate for A/F ratio when the boost is turned up? And if not how is that controlled?
thanks

The car is tuned from .8 BAR (or whatever wastegate spring pressure is set at) to the maximum boost level you plan to run.

With my car, TPC and Todd at Proto will dyno-tune my car for 93 octane, probably up to around 1.1 BAR or so (just a guess). That will be one map.

Then, they will tune it with 100 octane up to 1.3-1.4 BAR or so (another guess). That will be a different map.

Last, they will tune up to 1.7 or 1.8 BAR using 110 octane. That will be the last map.

The reason for thr 3 maps is to allow different timing at different boost levels. But to me, it will be totally transparent. I will simply turn the **** on my EBC up or down, depending on what octane fuel I'm running.

An EBC allows the user maximum flexibilty and control of your turbo car's power. But most tuner's refuse to use them because they're afraid a customer might run high boost with low octane fuel..and then blame the tuner for the subsequent damaged motor.

A graphic representation of this type of tuning is shown in my dyno graph below. It shows the different power levels of my car from 1.0 to 1.5 BAR.

Agreed! I love Porsches in white, you don't see it very often and it looks great! Not trying to thread jack, but Divxxtreeme what wheels and size tires are you running? Are those the HRE 792Rs? Are they 19s or 20s? Regardless they look perfect on your car! I wouldn't change a thing looks wise!

Casey, is Mike Levitas still running the show? And is Tom the same Tom that's been there for years and years?

If there's a GTG this weekend, barring rain, any of you guys coming? It's posted in the Mid Atlantic section...

Welcome to VA. Last time I checked, State Troopers can execute you on the side of the road and torch the car for not having a front plate.
