aftermarket exhausts -- warranty issues

This may seem like a simplistic question, but before I drop five large on a Europipe exhaust I want to make sure that it isn't going to cause me any warranty grief with Porsche. Hard to imagine there would be any issues, but has anyone had any problems?

Really all depends on how mod friendly your dealer is....

My first Techart Sport Exhaust was causing my check engine light to turn on. Had it reset twice. Arling @ Lucent eventually replaced it with a new unit, which has worked without incident for the last several months. Oh, I almost forgot, Arling did it for free (parts and labor) and bought me lunch to boot!! Now that's what I call "CUSTOMER SERVICE"!!

It totally depends upon your dealer! There is a dealer here in SoCal (who shall remain nameless) that told me my Europipe was causing a problem and had to be removed and replaced with a stock unit. This was heiffer dust (politely put) and I knew it. I drove down the street to another dealer who is more in the enthusiast community and they dug right in and fixed the problem.

So, depends TOTALLY on the dealer in my experience. I have no idea what guidance Porsche gives them in this regard.

Deed is done. Ordered it from Stef this morning (Stage Two loud). Those of you who have spoken highly of Stef are certainly right -- he was extremely nice and helpful, and a pleasure to do business with. Sharky -- you guys want to do the install?

I had Sonnen install my headers & mufflers on my old C2. Later on I installed a Powerflow intake (total POS) that tripped the CEL all the time (as well as making the car run like crap) and the guys at Sonnen spent a lot of time trying to get it to work...and never charged me a dime. Clearly, above and beyond what I would expect. Don't worry about the impact your exhaust will have on your warranty.

Thanks, Holger. Glad to hear Sonnen is at least somewhat "mod friendly." I have dealt with Manny, their chief mechanic, and he seems like a good guy.

Thx. I've heard enough negatives about Fabspeed that I'll probably stick with EP.
Is there a EPII Quiet or Loud at the shop that I can listen to?
