radar-mirror.com repairs self dimming mirrors for $99 plus shipping. My mirror looks brand new and works great after their repair.

A little clarity for the mechanically challenged please?

Exactly how to "pop the plastic cover off"?

just grab it and pull easy on it. it will pop off in 2 pieces. from there you can push up on the mirror and it will pop off

I will assume it separates along the 'seam' then? I was trying to pry it open on that seam and was afraid I was going to bugger it up.

Will go out and try a simple tug. Wish me luck!

No joy. Hmmmm.

Even tried using a putty knife to split the case.
