Im not starting anything at all just pointing out some facts that were debated a while back when these turbos came out... a handful of guys wanted to see what a car will do at moderate boost with basic add ons...
... and Im sure there is aK24/XXX billet wheel about to be released that will prove my facts... Ive done one billet K24 wheel for a client in Brazil and he had a 18g before... he gained 4mph at the track... same boost running a 5 bar...
good work... and Im just sharing my observations. for what they are worth...

Not 1.5 bar and no meth =).

What I saw yesterday was this...these nearly match 18g power (with in I would say 10 hps at 1.2 bar), with nearly 1000 rpm faster spool, for less money, with MUCH better area under the curve and my guess is with the billet wheel they will do better at high boost then 18gs.

Ill post my review soon. For what its worth, I ordered a set for my car for further testing!

didnt AMS supposedly make like make much more power then this car with not nearly as many bolt ons ? why did this car dyno so low ?

and for much less ? what does a pair if these billet 16gs, run ? just curious to see how these are cheaper then 18gs.

These were dyno'd on a MD whereas AMS's were dyno'd on a 2WD dynojet. These turbos have nothing to do with 16gs, FWIW.

Correct I meant k 16 billets , even if the one was on a rwd, dynojet and the other on a mustang the difference in power is huge, I think if I'm not mistaking ams made 680 whp .and with alot less boltons .

I could see 60 to 70 whp max difference ,but 540 to 680??

Also what is the price on these does any one know?

I didn't see an a la carte price for the turbos, but here is the link to the kit on their site:

AMS ran more boost, race gas, rwd, had many more mods and tested on a dyno jet. This car has for less mods, tested awd, on pump gas and on a lower reading dyno.

Trying to compare this particular car to their test car isnt like comparing apples to oranges... its more like comparing apples to kumquats . Far too many variables for a direct compare.

A basic 18g kit still retails around $5700, this kit kit retails for $4499...I would call that cheaper.

I have this too, but would like to note on 98 Octane I'm seesing 1.4 Bar, FAB power, however as the mod costs 5K parts + a minimum of 2K installation its not cheap but worthwhile

really ?i didnt pay anywhere near 5700 for my 18G's and i know for fact you can get 18gs for alot cheaper then 5700 ..

4500 plus 500 for cores....... You can send in your k24s , to blouch and have them done for 1000 $$ and get the wastegate actuators for another 300-450, and that is waaay cheaper then billett k16s even with core exchange....

so How much boost did ams really run? it must of been up wards of 1.6 bar and meth/race gas .

I think maybe that 5700 if for a "kit", not just the turbos.

The kit with flash, 5bar, and gaskets is 4500 (or 5k without cores). ..so the turbo upgrade+wastegates with your cores is ~2700. Not a bad option for K16 guys who want to clobber K24s down low and have 24/18g-like power up top.

26psi (1.76 bar) with MS109 for the 650rwhp pull, 2bar for 680.

not a bad option i guess , if you are set on billet 16s, but the 18Gs are still cheaper , you can get a flash for 1200, 5bar for 80 , and the turbo upgrades forand wastgates for 1250 , 2530 tottal ......turbo upgrade and wastegats only 1350 not bad either for 18gs, and i dont care what dynos you see real world numbers speak for them selves , 18gs up top will pull harder !!!

the billets are good if you want quick spool and pretty decent/ good power , but the 18gs pick up where the billets let go up top..

Not a true statement. On similar set ups, the 18g's will fall off at the IDENTICAL rate that the billets do. This surprised me as well.

As soon as I have 2 similarly modded cars (1 x 18g and 1 x k16 billet) I will post an over lay.
