Modded 996TT or GT2

wow, that's a first. most like it
Anyway, my take is, if I did not want to mod a car, I'd go with the GT2, but if I am going to mod to power levels of 520whp+ I would go with the 996tt. You won't feel so bad modding it and you will enjoy it more knowing that if you wreck it, the collector value is not an issue. But that is me. Also the PSM is a life saver. Many a driver has wrecked a GT2 trying to keep it on the road. Definitely a harder car to drive fast for a non pro. Also the money differential between the two in stock form is about 25k. For 25k you can build a pretty amazing TT that will walk a stock GT2 in any arena easily. If you don't plan on modding then go with the GT2.

Strange indeed....like saying "I didn't like Baywatch because I was not a fan of Pamela Anderson."
I have a heavily modded GT2 and don't care about resale because I will be buried in mine.

nice of you to think of your wife. I can tell you that once your dead, your family will sell your car regardless of what you think they will do.

Another take on modding is, I have poured (including stereo) $40K into my car.
I would rather spend $40 large upgrading a car worth 80K, that a car worth 45K.

Unfortunately, I believe there were only 5 white 996 GT2s sold in the US.

I would say if you plan on driving it and beating it up a little - TT. If you want a collector car that will hold more value and you will not mile it out or beat it up on the street or track, then GT2.
IMO if you are not planning on collecting, then shelling out the extra $$ for a GT2 is not worth it. U can convert a TT into a functional GT2 performance very easily.
I plan on driving the wheels off mine and doing track events, etc.

You're right, sorry, I was thinking of a Turbo that I had looked at several months ago. Here's the 996 GT2, silver.
