What year is you car, Alex? The newer models with the MOST BUS will need a different unit like the Dension Gateway. I think 2002 was the first year with MOST, but I may be wrong. I know my 2003 has it.

I would love to know if this works too!!
Not a fan of my friend's 06 997s with the factory FM-modulator type of ipod adapter, which I don't even know if it's available for 996, but there are bunch of FM modulator types out there anyway...and absolutely not a fan of paying $3k for an end-to-end aftermarket system just to have more music in my car.

I think that PIE makes a cheaper alternative with the same functionality, charge and select tracks, etc.
I wish my car wasn't MOST so I could use this. $450 for a box to control my $200 ipod is ridiculous.

Pre most bus (ie pre fiber option) this should work. FM modulators suck. Also check this one out

Sounds great but from what I'm seeing none of them support the P-car. Did you see something different?
On the plus side I see VW supported and my OTHER car is one of those and needs a little luvin' too!

I installed one in my friends 2002 C2. Was easy to install and works great. They even send you the special little tools to release the radio from the dash. Plugged it right into the radio's output for the multi disc CD and he was off and running!! less than 1/2 hour total time. He was ready to take a trip, so they FedX to him and did not even charge him.

Did he have the Factory Nav?
I'm looking for a solution for a 2002 with Factory Nav with the factory remote CD changer option. This looks promising.
Thanks!

Yes The IPOD is pretty much the ultimate CD changer. I installed a Pioneer AVIC Z2 in my last Porsche, and had both the IPOD interface and the CD changer. In the Three years it was in there, I never put a CD in the changer.
