blow off valve springs?

Has anybody needed to install stronger springs on there BOVs? When I get on the freeway accelerating in second gear (nornal to a little fast) I can hear the BOVs opening, is this normal? Alpha 30/76 turbos BOVs mounted on the intercoolers, Proto intake. I asked Todd and he said I should not need to change the springs.

I got the green and the yellow springs with my Forge DVs
I can't remember the spring rating of them but i'm using the uprated yellow ones

Are you sure it's the DVs you're hearing?

This is a very old school (original 930) way to increase HP (it stiffer springs in the waste gates). Not very refined. It works but your better off approaching this as a complete system: ECU, DV, intake, exhaust, and bypass values tuned to work together with adequate safety margins for your engine.

I doubt you need new ones... do you have stock or aftermarket? if you pressure test form the turbos you can push the inlet of the dvs to check if they work... it will release pressure you built up... if they leak then you know what to do...

Mark, I have the bovs that Todd sent me with the complete intake kit, and of course your snazzy intercoolers.

Mark, they are opening while I am accelerating, must be making more boost than the engine wants.

something may be hooked up wrong... and it may not be the dvs... its the Wgs that open.... the only way to tell is to pressure test from the turbos and see if they hold or not... if not then you have something going on...
Did yo take out the stock DV solenoid?

I only notice it getting on the freeway under load, second and third gear. I will try the 6th gear test.

Mark, the system was pressure checked no leaks. yes the stock dv solenoid was removed.
