tire / wheel combo recommendation

Would stock tire sizes 225/40-18 and 295/30-18 work on 18x9 and 18x12 wheels?

Ciao,

JE

They'll fit no problem, but the sidewalls could look a little stretched, especially on the rears

No.

Look at the manufacturers specs for rim width range.... max width on the 295/30-18 is 11".

I do not go by "what fits" or "has anyone done it"... when it comes to tires it is all 'by the book'

Ciao,

You might consider 235/40-18 and 315/30-18. There are both about .5 inches taller overall diameter but shouldn't mess up your AWD. You may have to roll your rear fender lips to get them to fit depending on offset.

100% AGREE. They won't fit.

The VW guys over here do the tyre stretch thing as part of the 'Euro' look

It's not good for performance & handling (or probably safety for that matter) but it sure can be done

I wouldn't do it on a Porsche.....

Power to weight baby! And if the Supra was still running the stock twins it wasn't all that fast. I suspect the 911 was fairly stock too and am surprised the Supra pulled as well as it did.

Oh and I had 295 19s stretched a bit on my last rims. IMO it didn't look great and it would have needed at least a 315 to look decent. I'm not sure of the width on those wheels and haven't measured it but I wasn't really happy with them that way for sure. The lip of the wheel was waaaay too prominent!

I reckon the Porsche in that video is probably stock, and the Supra is lightly modded

I've got 295 Conti's on my 11" rims and I think they look too stretched

I know what you mean about the prominent lip
I've got a picture for the O/P - not quite what he's after, but pretty close, just loading up the laptop so I can post it

275's on a 11" rim

My opinion - Not the right look for a P-Car
