There is a very loose piece of "heat shield/metal" between the exhaust

There is a very loose piece of "heat shield/metal" between the exhaust

tips and the rear bumper. I can slide it around easily, is this normal? I dont here it when csr is runnig parked or otherwise?

I think I have the same issue. It rattles like hell when I shut the passanger side door (that is the side that is lose). I use to think it was something in the engine compartment - its not. Mine is just to the right of the right exhaust tips.

Having it looked at next week.

As I recall - when I was replacing the plugs / coils I had to move the heat shield a little bit out of the way. It was held in place by some bolts. Maybe you've lost the retaining bolts ??

Is it the 'foil' or metal heatshield you're referring to?

I posted a similar question a little while ago and someone gave me a -1 rep and called me a moron!.....I couldn't believe it, I've said far more stupid things than that previously!

I'm referring to a flexible metalized foil I had to pull back then re-secure. It wasn't a proper metal plate heat shield. It was the material shown in the picture above.

I had the metal shield which runs across the width of the exhaust come loose on mine

The metal shield is held in place by 6-8 self taping screws and is a nightmare to secure again with the exhaust still in place
