Ohio GT2 vs Dr_jitsu!!!
Gather around boys and girls for a tale of high speed drama, law enforcement and long held grudges
After a disappointing day yesterday at the dyno (my car only dynoed 599 due to the DME pulling timing), Atomic Z was gracious enough to grant me the opportunity to run him and his GT2 which dynoed 732. I had run my car a bit since then and it seemed that the DME had finally adapted and the car was running strong. Since I did not get another chance to dyno, my logic was that at least I could possibly hang with his car.
Z and I agreed to meet around 8. However when we met he had my longtime rival Ohio GT2 with him (the person who originally commissioned the building of Z's car). There was also a 4 man camera crew in tow. And Ohio wanted to run me. Clearly I had been duped, but being a good sport I said "why not." I suggested that we run from 60-70, but Ohio wanted to go from 40.

We compromised on 50 (he hoping to draw me down below, and me above) and on the Mexican 59.
We went back and forth for a while but I finally conceded, shifted down to 2nd and we went from 40. He got a very slight jump. I reeled him in at the top of 2nd and started to pull in third. By the top of fourth I had a full 2 lengths that I held well into 5th gear.
We pulled over, and this time Atomic wanted to drive and again I agreed.
We went from 40 and this time I was up by 4 lengths when the pretty red and blue lights started flashing. Oh my. As luck would have it, everyone scattered and your humble narrator (along w/ a cameraman) was left to fend for himself. Oh my!

The law enforcement officer, who in fact turned out to be an excellent gentleman was, well, pissed! Of course he was upset about the speeds, but he was especially angry about the fact that my rivals had fled. He also seemed quite bothered about what he claimed was my car trying to race his girlfriend every time I saw her. I offered to sort that one out if he would tell me who she was all the while swimming through apologies. He did not like that idea at all, and started to grill me about the names and whereabouts of the "other GT2."
I said that the car belonged to Ohio GT2 who was from, as the name suggests, Ohio. I then gave an Oscar-worthy performance...actually it wasn't a performance, it was the truth, story about how Ohio had been publicly flagellating me on the car forums, how usually I confined my racing to the track. I asked if he was familiar w/ the Supra nationals...he was, (it turns out he has a Supra motor in a 240Z) then explained that I had won the 60-130 comp 2 years in a row, that yesterday I was publicly humiliated by my cars dyno performance, and that I was hoping to redeem myself today in the track event but that it was rained out. I agreed with him that I allowed my ego to get the best of me and that I was wrong.

He then asked how much power she made....I joked "well she only made 599 yesterday, but you could see that she was pulling a car that makes 732. He laughed. I then said "would you like to see the blow through intake?"
Well to make a long story short, I got a ticket for 85 in a 65, and I will be taking him to the next Cars and Coffee and Urban Speed car meets.
Oh, and I do plan to keep my promise not to street race anymore (unless I run across his Girlfriend)

That said, he told me Sean's car was the stronger one tonight and that Sean got both wins fair and square. No excuses.
Congrats, Sean. Your car is running very well!

Ya, I didn't want to say Eric missed 3rd....he is usually an excellent driver...honestly better than me all around. He was a top track guy at the Supra nats this and other years. He placed in the top 4 when Peter had the overall competition. he can drive.
the 2nd 3rd shift on these cars is very tricky (why many like to go w/ the 997SSK).

They are both good drivers. Eric is especially good around a road course. However, Eric missed 3rd in the 2nd race. He only has a few hours behind the wheel of this car since he bought it.

85 in a 65. And I am going to take him to some car meets.
The meets are most excellent here in Houston
But seriously, I do intend to stop street racing, I really do. I think he could tell I was sincere. My son will be 3 soon and I don't want him to ever hear a word about the stuff I have done.
