I wonder what those overrated 9ff cars could ran in 1 mile

 

is there a reason for 1.3 to 1.5 miles? Sounds kinda hoaky when they don't have a set distance like 2km etc. They have no measurable distance but range, so it cannot be duplicated.

 

I do not want to make any excuses but just additional information:

They wanted to get to max speed on that area, and not within a max speed within a certain distance.

Also, keep in mind that in Europe, due to lack of drag racing culture etc. there is not much any "racing gasolines" with high octane levels available. And when we are talking about boost, that does make a difference.

People drive here 1000hp cars with 100 RON octane gas, which is something like your guys 94-95 AKI octane. Not more.

Btw. that 9FF Convertible is 933hp. Heard it was at the rev limiter there. Back in 2006 9FF's 997 Convertible with 780hp did 380.5 km/h on well known magazine test on Nardo circuit (that's 236mph+ , http://www.worldcarfans.com/10612185...st-convertible)

Btw2. I don't care about 9FF or huge power or huge speed as I am only track oriented, but seen quite many fast 9FF cars in Germany where I do most my driving...

Euro tuners ALWAYS bet on 0-300kmh acceleration and they r still slower than U.S tuners

Joe/Evo car ran 100-300 in 10sec ON VBOX not on magazine

9ff GT9-R Which RACE CAR ran 0-300kmh in 15,8sec

And now U.S tuners beat them in 1 mile race

Actually, I really think Euro tuners like to show up too much...It seems that noone else can do fast P-cars, and that if you don't spend 40K euro for a 600hp package, you will blow up your engine or you will not get the promised hp...
Sure their cars are rock solid and very very fast, but lets be honest...you can get the same power and reliability from US tuners for a lot less money.
AND, if you want the fastest Porsche in the world....only US tuners can help you now.

this is a funny thread.

I think there should be a tuner shootout Euro vs American. It should be held in neutral ground, you know, a place that does not favor either continent, like Washington DC.

The track this took place on has a 2 mile straight

Basically, you take off halfway down the back straight and keep your speed steady whilst going round the last bend....as you exit the bend you stand on the 'go pedal' and head for the horizon

As you're starting to accelerate after the bend the run is somewhere between 1.3-1.5 miles.....You then have the remaining 0.5-0.7 miles to slow down


The cars here have a rolling start and we have a longer track than the Texas Mile.....
It would be good to set up something more in line with the mile to see a direct comparison
