Need racing slicks for road course

What it the best actual slicks that fit a 2002 996 turbo. I have run the Pilot Sport Cups and I want to try an actual slick. Any ideas?

To be honest, you don't really need slicks all you need is Toyo R888. These tires are made for road coarse and are sticky tires. Other than these, I would use Hoosier Slicks. Nice to see you here Buddy G.

Is that Buddy?

I will pm you later regarding Slicks, you can't just run similar sizes in slicks as the Tire temps are way excessive of road going tyres... even 650's on the rear are dangerous.

Couple of places you can pick up used (slightly) slicks to try out. I have run my street car(barely) at the track (not 996tt) for a few years for lapping days. I run porsche cup fronts all 4 corners (bmw sedan). The grip is much better then any r-comp I've run. Last I used were the hoosier r6's, no comparison. To make them work though you need to run considerable amounts of camber, I had to add 1.25 deg front up for a 3.75 degs total and 2.75 degs total rear. This is a pain for a street driven car. The other thing is they will require much higher wheel rates to work correctly, the grip will increase and the chassis roll will work against the benefit of the slicks. Look at what your running now for spring rates and probably double them.(don't know what your running so just a guess).

Trick will be to find a set with the same rolling dia. that will work for the 996tt.
