Slightly off-topic, but regarding the crazy 'busas, we have a few here in England, the record for a similar event on a 'busa is 270.5mph a couple of years back, not sure of the distance though.

They sell an off-the-shelf 'busa 770bhp kit:

The only M3 I've heard about went 168...but I doubt it was supercharged.

You have to be kidding!

Seems plausible - this one made 701 WHP back in Jan of 2009. They make solid billet bottom ends as well now.

I just hope this "first timer" knows his **** before taking it out.

900whp is 100% unrideable for sure.. I had 1 with 631whp and we couldnt use it all in 6th with gearing for 262.. I hope this guy doesnt end up getting hurt..

Then again, they could have easily set it for kill on the dyno and pull back the boost for the mile. I'd bet that's the case.

I agree with you Mike, 900 WHP is a handful for a street car, much less a bike...

That said, whoever is doing the Texas Mile Twitter Update that mentioned the bike is funny as hell -

This just in.... It actually states in the Nissan GTR Owners Manual that you CAN'T exceed 200MPH in the Texas Mile w/o voiding the warranty
And then

Someone actually RTFM - 196.7 in a Boost Logic GTR

Just an update on the Boost Logic GT-R. I talked to Justin N, the tuner/driver of the car. He said the pass was done on Low Boost and the A/F, Timing, etc.. are all still controlled by Justin N. Just wanted to clarify that the Boost Logic car's tuning is in complete control of Justin N. The problem is the factory Rev Limiter, but that was taken care of!!!

I was wrong the bike went 259.8 or .7. My friends company sponsors it. It did it's pass at 490rwhp and between 3/4 and 1 mile it was at 263 and started spinning so he backed out of it. The fact he isn't WOT until the 1/2 mile marker is insane!!!

Yes thats sick.. Once he can get it to WOT long before the 1/2 mile it will go even faster.. The bike that holds some of the records in Maxton @ 262mph had traction control setup perfect.. It was stock length no extension which was nuts .. he used to get in it right out of the gate.. It makes my turbo Busas record of 236.9 from 3 years ago look so slow now.. LOL

Mike
