Fender rolling for 315s in rear?

Ran a few searches and couldn't come up with a definite answer.

Just procured some new rims (11 inch rears) (stock offset) and was going to go with a 315/30/18 tire.

2 Questions:

1- Will they fit without rolling the fenders?

2 - If rear fenders need to be rolled, how do they do this on our cars. I went out and looked at mine and it seems that they fold in and fit flush with the inside wheel well guard. So how can they be rolled when they're flush against this. Has anyone else rolled theirs with this issue?

Please advise.. thanks,

M

Awesome..that would be the ideal situation.

Just out of curiosity... I know that some brands of tire 315 are actually wider, or narrower, than others.. what are you running?

Thanks again!

I'm running 315/25/19 with zero rubbing issues.

Great.. looks like that won't be an issue then. I really appreciate the responses.

Now the Ft tires:

8.5 rim.

Will 245/35/18 have rubbing issues? or should I stick with 235/40/18 ?

if your going with 30's on the rear you should put the same on the front or it will hurt your diff

You think?

If I go 315/30/18 in rear and 245/35/18 in ft, it's pretty close to stock sizing (diameter).

Stock sizes are 225/40 ft and 295/30 rear.

Help me understand.

Out of curiosity, why didn't you go with the 12 ide rears to fit the 315's? The 11's fit the 295's well enough, but you are pushing it with 11's if you want to go to 315's.

Long story short - I got a deal on these wheels that I couldn't pass up.

Right now I have my winter wheels on.

Rears:

Stock = 295/30/18
Winter = 265/35/18

Sooo..

Overall Diameter diff is + .33 inches
Revs / Mile = 797.06 = -10.68

Front Winters are same spec as stock (225/40/18)
Revs / Mile = 803.94 ft.

Diff of 6.88 revs / mile

No issues with this setup.

If I move to 315/30/18 in rear:

Overall Diameter Diff = +.47
Revs / Mile = 792.74 = -15

If I move to a 235/40/18 in ft:

Overall Diameter Diff = +.31
Revs / Mile = 793.97 = -9.97

So the difference I have now in Revs / Mile with my winter set up is 6.88 revs/mile and I have no issues. So with a 235/40 in ft and 315/30 in the rear = diff of 1.23 revs/mile.

I don't see how that would be bad.. let me know if I'm way out of line here.

235/40/18 in ft and 315/30/18 in rear are perfect. I run ps2's in those sizes and have no rubbing issues on champion RG5' 18x11.5.

Don't assume that the tire width is the only factor here the offset of the rim has to be right to get the tire to fit. What offset are you running in the rear? A high offset can be cured with a spacer but a low offset can not.
