Question 2002 cupholder issue

Okay, 3rd pass at the strip I got a little wheelhop. Backed out of it a bit and got back into it with a couple of hard shifts. End of the track my cupholder is half sticking out. I push it back in, it pops half way out. I tug on it, it laughs and stays halfway out. Now I've not ever had this dash apart but I know it's been apart before. I have also never popped open the silly cup holder - I don't drink and drive So, anyone seen this? What latches it and what can I do reasonably to get it to lock back in place? It just looks really goofy sticking out is all

Thanks!

So the cupholder was actually laughing? Well I think you have much bigger problems to deal with.

I had the same problem toke me hours to fix the dam thing. the solution put a cup in it, holds strong and wont add much weight.

if it stuck out further I COULD put a cup in it! but it's not quite halfway out

Nothing to brag about at the strip. Tim was getting 11.27s @127 out of it. I got a 12.x at 120MPH and knew something wasn't right. Next pass I missed 3rd and ended up at 117mph. Next pass no missed shift and the car was still slow, peak boost on POS EBC said like .7BAR. Took it on the road to help get parts for a friend (8second 2JZ 240Z!) and did some pulls - .7BAR max. At this point I knew beating a dead horse would be dumb as if it was a leak I'd be overspeeding my turbos and fueling rich. I spent half my day sucking water out of a 2JZ's cylinders instead. Sadly he seems to have broken something

I suspected a leak but having chased my tail on this before I checked the EBC - dead.

So the cupholder is an aside - it BUGS me. Cars feel good just slower than it should be but the CH looks like ***

Turbos, injectors, headers, exhaust, tune, a dead EBC.... MPH was 7 off so it was apparent from the start something wasn't right. Thought it was me but nope - spring boost of .7 vs 1.2BAR is a pile of ponies

So about that darned cup holder....

Oh and first time at the track for me in this car. Axle hop sux!

No not a secret just not something I'm sure about - these came from Tony and they are a hybrid. The car belonged to BASupra before me and he ran the times and swapped the turbos. I don't keep secrets about my car...
