Porsche reman engine and resale value

What effect does a Porsche reman engine have on resale value? I needed to get a new engine not to long after I bought my 2001 turbo back in '08. It has 35 k miles on the odo now. I replaced the engine at 33 k. Reason I ask is because I have the opportunity to participate in a management buyout and may need to sell the car shortly to free up capital. Car has UMW tune and GT2 front end.

TIA

If it's a Porsche reman purchased and installed by an authorized Porsche dealer, then I'd consider it a plus because it should have a 2yr/24k warranty on it.

I'd say that over all it is a wash- some people will wonder "musta been abused"... but given the other mods on the car, the buyer will not be a "gotta be stock porsche without anything changed" person.

Also, with UMW tune you have no warranty.

For the right buyer (like me) it would be a plus.

I bought mine because it had a fresh motor from the dealer. 45k on the car and 6k on the new motor. altho my cars original motor was popped at the track. But to me would prefer a well maintained/documented track car than a neglected/no record street car but that is just me.

If I was shopping for this car, I would be more likely, not less likely, to consider it because of the replaced engine. It's not some 1967 911s that I care about a numbers matching engine. It's a modern turbo car that I want to be reliable and ready for me to flog on it.

Would be a + for me as a buyer. A rebuilt one with better rods and studs would be a +++++++++++++!!

Thanks guys. I was under the same impression as well. If I were to buy this car over again, I'd consider it a plus...almost like buying a low mileage one. How much do you think it would go for? There is still 1 year left on the porsche warranty and I have an EasyCare for 2 more years. I also changed the clutch out for a 964rs clutch from Kevin when the engine was out and it has a 4 new tires. Unfortunately, I was planning on keeping it, but this opportunity is has big upside potential.
