If it is the PS pump whine, you can either replace the reservoir with the new 997 part number or keep your existing reservoir but go with the GT2 slave modification to rectify the issue.

I went with the GT2 slave and haven't looked back. As such, I have a brand new 997 part number PS reservoir in my garage that was never installed. PM me if you are interested.

I had this problem for months and I could only hear it at low speeds. It either went away at higher speeds or I just couldn't hear it any longer.

I had bought a new tank but before I had a chance to install it my clutch accumulator went bad. I went with the GT2 slave conversion and upon advice of my tech, didn't install the new tank. Haven't heard the whine since and I have a shiny new tank sitting on my shelf in the garage.

I'm not convinced that's it. If I remember correctly the high pitched noise associated with the PS check valve occurs at all speeds and can be heard beyond low speeds. I've read many threads on that subject and the descriptions don't match up with my car like this thread does.
