vbzatty is infamous around these parts
The Ferrari is a head-turner that's for sure. But the 996TT is still a better daily driver. I don't lose any sleep over the 60k miles on the P-car. The Ferrari is only a year older and has 16k miles. The 996 got it's first clutch replacement last year, and that was only because the motor was out for performance mods. The 360 also got it's first clutch change this year, w/ 1/4 the miles on it. The clutch was also twice the cost of the P-car ($5,500, plus another $3k for it's 3 year major maintenance). So the 996 is still my daily driver of choice, while the Ferrari is better suited for a weekend cruise or a day that I feel I need a little extra attention.

How do you find the contrast between the two different throttle responses?

Ferrari's "push-button" high-revving NA engine vs. the Turbo's sort of "crescendo" of power?

I've driven an F430 (almost a year ago, and only for a few days), and from what I remember it was sort of like an M3 on steroids. More horsepower, incomparable sound and very "planted" handling.

But it had very subdued torque & accelleration, where that is a strong point for the 996TT.

Never driven a 360, but I imagine it would be quite similar to the 430.

Just wondering what it's like to go from one car to the other within the space of a few hours... anything stick out as a profound difference?

Just curious :-)

Cheers

-Chris
