Hoping to get them to spool up 400 rpm quicker than stock.. The compressor wheel is considerably lighter than either the stock wheel or the 18G or 20G wheels and that should help, PLUS I am going to the full 3" exhaust system which will lessen the backpressure even more...

Seems like the perfect Turbo for those of us that have Cars that already have the K24's, the GT2 and X50 package owners...

No comment on the meth comments. I run 50/50 meth/water with our crap gas and likely will continue to do so.

This is what race gas is for, given that California 91 octane is basically lukewarm gnats ****...

Oh I'm with ya.. I too want to get the switchable files when that is ready from Tony.

Oh, as someone else mentioned, while you have that tranny out for the clutch you should definitely consider doing the inlet pipes, now that they are more affordable (still expensive for what they are, but it's a Porsche). You have seen what the stock piping looks like right?

Any update on the K24 billets? I was JUST about to pull the trigger on the K24/18g conversion when I saw this thread. Very interested in going the billet route if the results are better.

All I have right now is the opinion of a couple of people and a couple of real World results that are being kept quiet for whatever reason..

I have been told that the new Billet upgrade to the K24 is a much lighter wheel and far more efficient than the 18G or 20G that have been around for a while. I have been told the Billet is good for 4 mph over the 18G in the 1/4 mile and that was on a 5 Bar regulator, NOT with injectors which will improve it's results even more.

It spools quicker than the 18G and has a better top end than the 20G.. But this is all speculation and I won't know until I get the work done and everything fully tuned etc.

I'm pretty freaking excited...

now just remind me, isn't the K24 the same size as the K16 housing ? what exactly are the diffs between K16/24 except the 16 has a smaller wheel I understand ?

I believe they are 2 totally different turbos. The K16/24 has a K16 turbine housing and turbine wheel with a K24 compressor housing and compressor wheel. Good for quick spool and similar K24 power. Runs out a bit up top with the smaller turbine housing though, compared to a true K24.

are you doing injectors or running the 5bar? i'd love to see results on just the 5 bar and then injectors.

I'm doing 72 lb Bosch injectors.. All the Tuners I have talked to recommend injectors vs. 5 Bar (they had a LOOOOOONG explanations for why, but in essence it's a fuel pump/pressure issue that doesn't happen with injectors, but is a problem with the 5 Bar.).

Is this just with the 24's? I'm running both inj/5 bar with larger turbo's though? would be interested in a short version of the looong explanations?

Yes, just with the 24's. With even bigger turbos, I assume you would need injectors AND a 5 Bar to get enough fuel to feed your beasts. From what I have been told, injectors and a 5 bar is way too much fuel for the K24 18G/20G and this new Billet.

Cheers..
