FINALLY!!!! K24 BILLET upgrade...
So.. I finally got news of the immediate availability of a K24 Billet upgrade.. I have committed to do a package with Tony @ EPL, but I cannot divulge too many details on the Billet K24 stuff, as I promised him I would keep it close to the vest until there is an official release of the information and pricing..
Here's what is going to happen:
K24 Billet upgrade to the existing K24's on my 2003 GT2, along with upgraded wastegates, ported/smoothed/polished exhaust and intake side, Bosch 72 Lb injectors, upgrading my X-Cellerator 2.5" to full 3", custom tune from Tony @ EPL, having the stock headers hand ported, adding the billet aluminium LWFW and stage 3 Fiber Tough clutch from Clutchmasters, upgrading my intercoolers (when I figure out fact from fiction, which when it comes to intercoolers is proving to be verging on impossible). Tony will be providing me with a 1.2 Bar tune for CA 91 Octane gas and a 1.4 Bar tune for 100+ octane race gas, with tune autoswitching to follow soon after.
The main goal of these upgrades is to take my Car to the next level at the track.. I have already done everything within reason in terms of the suspension and the Car is just brilliant at the track now.. power is always a good thing, as long as your handling is able to make use of it and when this upgrade is done, I don't think I will be complaining about needing more power between turn 11 and 2 at Laguna, or whining about how the Car needs more grunt to get up the hill between turn 6 and the Corkscrew..
This should all happen in the next 4-6 weeks and I will keep everyone posted as to what the results are and try to photograph every step of the way....
I'm starting a competition to see who can most closely guesstimate the final RWHP at 1.2 Bar and 1.4 Bar, so let's hear your best guesses... Winner gets nothing other than bragging rights..
P.S if anyone cares to give me some verifiable, documented, real-World, verified, dyo/track proven figures on intercoolers that will fit in the stock location on a 2003 GT2 (with minor modifications being acceptable to me as long as the stock piping is used) I will be all ears and eternally grateful.
Also.. Any ideas on what else I should do at this time to make the Car even better? Come on, I KNOW there are some good opinions out there from you guys...
Cheers.

Good news.
I know of 2 companies that make them... one is a seven blade the other 6... but the 6 inch is lighter...
here are some datalogs of a 18g car running 1.1 to 1.2 bar max from 0 to 150 mph...
same car, no boost controller... only ICs were swapped... same tune...
this is a real world log... Price: $2200 using high quality Bell cores with stock fittings.... $2000 with 2.5" OD outlets.
The only fab work involved is the .5" plastic runner that needs to be shaved off...
We can install them in the brackets and do the fab work for free and send back ready to bolt up....

Can't tell anyone the pricing until the Company that makes them officially launches them and publicly announces the price.

Graham,
If you are doing all that and replacing the clutch, you should seriously consider the turbo inlet pipes at this point, as the area will be open. I can set you up with them, if you decide to do it.
I would also look at IC's with 2 1/2" inlet and outlets, 2 1/2" larger boost hose from the IC's to the Y-pipe and a Y-pipe with 2 1/2" legs for enhanced flow after the turbo. PM if you want to discuss a bundle deal on any or all of these items.
Good luck with the project, it sounds like a lot of fun and very exciting!

Well.. since I'm already going to do the 3" upgrade to your X-Cellerator system, go ahead and quote me on your recommended upgrades.. Bear in mind, I want the engine bay to look completely stock.. no bling, no strange fluorescent colors.. it needs to be black and look like it all came that way, it needs to look finished.. no crappy welds, weird hoses etc..
I really need to go with verifiable, proven product that has data to back it up, especially on the intercooler side of things.. I don't want to buy something that turns out to be no better than the stock GT2 intercoolers..

Graham,
I'll put together a quote for you.
I know what you mean about a clean OEM look on the Y-pipe. We designed our Y-Pipe with that in mind. All the hoses mount where they did as OEM and the billet aluminum MAP sensor mount is a copy of the factory MAP mold and is located in the same spot, for the reasons you stated - it looks proper. It uses silicon hose where the OEM system does for less heat conductivity and the Y-Pipe portion is physically sized very similar to the OEM Y-pipe - the difference being all components offer higher flow and eliminate the restriction points vs. the OEM pieces they replace. Initially, we avoided the multiple weld look/design, however, we are currently working on a less expensive multiple weld Y-Pipe/intake pipe for those that desire that look or don't mind the welds.
Graham, Below is a picture of a system in black, which looks very OEM installed...

And they are REALLY hard sessions.. Most Cars other than Porsches come in at the end of every session smoking, puking fluids, brakes shot.. That's why I LOVE this Car.. it runs like a train, the temps never budge, it laughs at the abuse I give it..
