996 Turbo / GT2 Turbo discussion on previous model 2000-2005 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo and 911 GT2.

Is there a reason why 90% of turbo's are silver?!

ya know I was just having a conversation with a buddy the other day on how silver is the prototypical color for a Turbo porsche...in any generation.

If you think about it, doesn't it seem like all the OEM Porsche turbo wall posters feature silver cars?

I have to agree with this thread, I have probably 10 friends and associates with 996 TT's and all but three are silver, it's pretty funny.

Not really funny, I hate having the same color as a lot of people. Luckily I still don't see Turbos on the street much, but plenty at the track now and even the out of town ones are silver.

There are a lot of silver 996 GT2's as well (relative to total production it would seem).
