Oil Change time Summer Weight???
It's time for a oil change I have 18,000 miles on my 2001 996TT currently using 0/40 Mobil1 I live in Phoenix Az what are you guys running during the hot summers or should I just stick to 0/40 weight Mobil1? Thanks for any feedback.

0-40W, Oil thins as oil temps increase. You want a higher (40w) for hot / hotter climate. For the colder months you want the lower (0) so that oil is not like molasses when starting the engine and running during sub-zero temps. Stick with Porsche's recommendation.

It's my daily driver so mainly 10-15 miles one way but also a lot of shorter drives too.

I change mine a bit more frequent than the recommendation. Since i drive 2000 miles a year, i change the oil twice a year along with the oil/air filter. A habit i have from the air cooled engine days.
When I drive her, she gets driven fast but not abused. Frequent oil changes gives me added protection. Engine stays strong. These engines abuse oil.
