Forum Wars Continued: GTR vs 996

I have one race set up. He is not like the rest of the bunch, however, very polite and just wants to see how his car does against mine.
It is a much slower car than mine (he is hoping to run 180 at the Tx Mile) so I will give him the jump.
The funny thing is while this guy is reasonable, 90% of the other forum members swear that his car is going to slaughter mine

Taken from the other thread:
Actually 3 cars have run 9s already.. 10s is very old news.. They are running 10's with Tune, Intake and Exhaust.. There are 20 of those already.. its a SUPERIOR straight line car no way to argue that.. Its less than 2 years old not 9..

guys to be realistic here there are some things that are fact and somethings that are an opinion, you guys like Porsches are the best place to spend your money and thats your opinion but as far as what car is faster between a 996 and a gtr its a FACT that its the gtr so what are we doing here?? the gtr beats the 997 in just about every performance category it beats it around every track that multiple media sources have tested, it beats EVERY porsche around the ring so why are we debating if its faster than a 996? We all like what we like but you also gotta be realistic. To compare modded cars is a battle of wallets as far as im concerned so it doesnt mean much, in the 3 years this r35 has been out the gtr is already in the 9's already made a 1000hp and has broken 200 at the mile, so lets not debate FACT stock to stock a 996 CANT beat a gtr

It is not Hing, it is rsfootball. However if it is Hing I will run him. Remember, I have already beaten a car that traps 143, and I will be running 60 rwhp more boost for this event so I am confident that I can beat a GTR that traps 148.
You are aware that a stock block rw drive Porsche has also trapped close to 150, and without all the driver nannies that GTR drivers rely upon.
I am being very realistic.

I'm not saying you think you beating him is naive. You have a very fast car, there's no denying that. Just the fact that maybe if everyone else on that board thinks he can compete, there might be some truth to it. And the 180mph at the mile event may not be 100% truthful.

Wait a minute, his motor is not stock....I specified a stock block with only bolt ons. He has rods and pistons. The challenge was specifically for a stock block car w/ only bolt ons. We have cars w/ built motors making over 1K hp, but that is not the challenge.
I see he was bsing about the 180, lol.

his motor is completely stock. He is waiting for a built block to push the power even higher. He is correct as in he only has bolt-ons. The SPE's own car (#1 on the drag list) has had the motor built. Hing's car is #2 on that list.
Good luck. I own both brands and love both cars. I just want to see some clean friendly racing that brings 2 owners together instead of tearing them apart like that stupid show.

Hey Guys-
Hey Enrique, thanks for answering my PM on NAGTROC. We can do this. Where are you located?
Will you be able to make Willow Springs June 12th and/or 13th? It should be fun. I'll be the first to admit I've only done 12 track days in my life, all with the GT-R, and all in the last year, so I understand how important the driver part of the equation is. It sounds like you might be quite the hot shoe. Nonetheless, I'll give it my best shot. Like I said in my PM, I have no attitude, and I'm just doing this for fun.
I represent only myself and my car; I do NOT represent NAGTROC nor have I been voted to represent the forum.
I just have an intake and turbo back exhaust, as well as sways and AP Racing rotors (this stock drilled rotors have a nasty habit of cracking) and Carbotech XP10 pads. My custom Cobb Access Port tune gets me 540 awhp compared to 425 awhp bone stock. My tires are the Dunlop SP600 DSST runflats and my suspension is completely OEM, with the exception of my sways. My alignment is also completely bone stock.
Big Willow is a really fun track, and one where neither the 996TT nor the GT-R should have any inherent advantage. It'll be fun hanging out and see who can grab the fastest lap time. The food is pretty good, too.
If the big Willow dates don't work for you, I'll be at the Redline Time Attack May 29 and 30th at Cal Speedway ROVAL in Fontana. May 29th is an open track day. We could go for lap times this day, if that works better for you. May 30th is the time attack. You could join us...you'll be in Mod AWD, just like me. Just need to have a fire extinguisher mounted in your car within reach (safety rule). You'll also need a time attack license. PM me on NAGTROC if you need more info on this.
Looking forward to a friendly dash to the fastest lap time, and it very well may be yours.
