997 SSK is where it's at

I went the stock 997 route and it is a huge improvement over the 996 unit. I thought I'd give it a try before shelling out 400+ for the 997 ssk. Picked up a used one for $60 and if I decide to go with the 997 ssk later I am sure I can sell it for what I paid for it. So I see it as a free trial.

Larry, I went from a completely stock 996tt to a 997 SSK shifter. It was one of the first mods I did even before my 18g upgrade. It was a night and day difference from the stock, long throw, rubbery feel of the shifter. Jeff is right, it's in the same ballpark as a S2000 shifter which I think has a great precise feel. When I bought my SSK from Suncoast I think it was in the low $400 range but that was a couple of years ago.

I went from the stock shifter to the regular 997 shifter and have been happy with it but wonder if the SSK would be better for the track. I've read that it is not as fast under those conditions.
I'm going to the track today and will see Mikelly who has the SSK, so I'll pick his brain about the on track capability.
