996TT w/ "18 HRE 560R straight lip. Take One.
Today I took a few minutes to take a few pics...
I'm satisfied with performance of both HRE's and Michelin PS2. Both quality products. Thanks to Autodynamica for great service and quality.

car looks horrible at the present moment, not even remotely good looking
lower it A LOT ... get a gt2 alignment and lower the car quite a bit... dial in more negative camber to give it an even lower and more menacing look.. you have to do this because you have 18s... also, when these tires wear out (a few thousand miles or so down the line), why not consider going with oem gt2 tire sizes ? 235/315 combo would look great...
paint the lowers... it makes the car look cheap.. as does the unpainted bumperettes
sorry to be so blunt... but this is 6speed ... where you're not low enough until you're rubbing

don't worry Steve, I know there are some pretty wild 996TT's around here... maybe I should post in the "almost stock" forum instead of 6speed, he, he, he...
I'm all for restrained looks and driveable performance and don't worry some sort of suspension will be in pretty soon, be it an X73 (my first choice) or coilovers either from Bilstein or H&R. Negative camber will be dialed in, certainly.
Painted lowers is also considered, I would like to add the aerokit front lip though to the equation, any good place to get it?
Front wheels are considered for big brake kit already, so brakes as well as engine will be address in the near future.
This turbo is about driveable performance and enjoyment focused on handling considering also Central Mexico very though conditions.
But don't worry Steve I get my kicks out my Swiss Hutless, when I want low, fast and visceral (feels like 7 g's at least my ribs feel that way) I go around the track pretty fast, he, he, he...
in this toy, then take the Turbo and head home at warp speed as well, he, he, he

In my Boxster I went crazy (or maybe not) and had my street set painted gun metal...
I was comforted when I saw the Sportec 997TT with the same shade on its wheels. Very few people like it, but I personally love it.
As far as the 996TT goes, I was looking for function and performance thus "18's were chosen. My first choice was BBS LM's, I'm a sucker for BBS mesh wheels but HRE's proved to be a good alternative as well. Restrained looks for the "in the know" was accomplished and I'm happy with it as I drive the car on all sorts of situations, from dropping kids at school, work, Porsche events, track events, etc.
This projects is about driveable perfomance, excellent handling and restrained looks for daily driving in Central Mexico. Suspension, brake and engine tweaking is in the works.
But in the end is about mood, sometimes silver wheels look tremendously well, take a midnight blue 996TT with silver Ruf wheels and it will look awesome, but how about 997 MkI GT3 RS wheels on my silver 996TT, perhaps a strike of genius, don't you think, its a matter of choice, car color, mods and most important mood.
