2010 One Lap of America.. Interesting
I know there are various threads about the GTR vs. Porsche all over the place.. I was browsing around and found this information about this year's One Lap Of America and wanted to point out that this year, the 996 GT2 (NOT a 997 GT2) has won EVERY SINGLE roadcourse event that has been contested so far... EVERY ONE!
This is on DOT tires of rating 140 or above.. Every Car HAS to have tires that conform to the rules and they HAVE to buy them from the Tire Rack to make sure there are no cheaters. As far as I can tell, this evens the playing field and equalizes the tire debate.

The GTR and Corvette are battling for second and third at the roadcourse events...
pictures of the dominating 996 GT2...
Of course.. There are those people out there that will tell me I am biased...

I think it's CRYSTAL CLEAR why the GT2 is in first...

Enough said...Leh is a friend of mine and a Supra owner...to put it mildly, he knows how to drive. Proof?

I'm NOT saying the GTR would be in first otherwise....but, well, at this point, NO ONE has a chance.

...and yes, Leh is that good that he can win races with the rear sway bar disconnected. Great read...

The GT2 is slaughtering the field, up to 9 seconds it has been to second place. Really is no fair with Leh driving. However the GT2 last year won the majority of road course events as well vs competition with significantly more acceleration and mods. So it's already proven what's up.
Would have been nice to see Leh in that car vs the ACR and the GT-R that was really fast but didn't work last year, plus an upgraded GT2 with Peter and Ian, and Mark Davia back again.
Would have been awesome, but I don't think much of anything could have beaten that ACR (at least in times, though wouldn't have won overall).

Yes indeed, because it is a Porsche!
On a serious note, isn't Danny Popp driving teh Vette? Not the same league?

It doesn't hurt to have Leh Keen behind the wheel I actually approached him about doing this event in the Camo car but he had already committed. A 996tt with a bit more power, less weight.....next year?
