Question Durametric help

I bought a Durametric cable from a member on here several months ago, and all was great. It worked well, it interfaced with my laptop and I haven't had a problem with it... Until today--I plugged it into the OBDII port per usual protocol and only get a red light. No green. It was green for a moment and then turned red. Now it's stuck on red. Computer says it cannot locate an active Durametric cable . How can it be working one moment and not the next?

Anyone with any experience in this? Am I looking at just buying a new cable? Do OBDII ports themselves fail?

TIA

Its not Vin coded to your car.. you just wasted your money....
call Scott at softronic and he may be able to switch vins for a nominal fee...
Or it can be Gen 1 and will not work with certain software...

No, actually, it had been working fine on my car for several months. Just today, suddenly, it stopped. Same car, same VIN, different results

Went out and tried that, but still no luck--it's like the cable is suddenly locked out from my car--the software says it cannot validate the cable

I may have to call Durametric on Monday, or just bite the bullet and buy my own new kit...
