The price is also amazing$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Lose a little weight and add a little hp and tire over the 997GT2 and add $$$$$$ Sorry I am not impressed for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
I think I will keep the 996GT2 and if I need to go faster a little $$ will more than equal the GT2RS.

996 GT2, plus JRZ's, plus 18G upgrade, plus 1.2 Bar tune = Faster Car than the new GT2 RS at 1/4 the price.....

I am pretty sure it is the GT1 motor not the DFI. Not sure the DFI could handle it... No one is sure right now

lol, isn't that what the turbo guys have been saying
Shoe on the other foot thing..
Apparently this RS has RSR suspension components, not sure which ones, but it is more than just more power. Still a lot of money.

Modding a 996 GT2 is a good way to rationalize not spending the money for the new 2 RS.
However, for some of us, this car will be worth every penny. Most modded cars simply do not have the refinement of a factory car, not to mention the warranty. For me, I just hope to be one of the 95 lucky deliveries here in the States.

That EDO GT2 costs even more than this new RS... which therefore makes the factory one a BARGAIN!
GT2 RS...woah, almost too crazy track weapon...
You as a modded 996 GT2 racer may find this fact pleasant:
Back in 2005, Patrick Simon drove a modded 996 GT2 7.15.6 IN TRAFFIC and the track was more bumpier that time (now there is new asphalt helping in some sections...)
A pic of the car:
(Yes, the car looks like a RSR with reg. plates, but it is very often at the Ring, the current owner drives it a lot there! ...and his daughter has a similar 993... )

I'd personally rather own that car over any other car on the planet. Bar none.

Gt2 rs
I with you 100% over Ferrari, Lambo ect

I guess then I, too, should just accept this as complete fact.
Why not?
For that kind of money, I want it to come with a #Q#$#@!, and a little bit of a @$@#$, with some @#$@@ in the %^%!
It seems to be an amazingly fast car. They've definitely set the bar (as they usually do). They've also set a price that makes the LF-A seem not so bad.

It is the same things that Porsche owners say against the Z06 and GT-R - "There is so much more to the car than performance."
It is the same things that Corvette owners say against the Chevy Camaro and new Mustang 5.0.
And the same with an Infiniti or Lexus owner saying that about the SRT-4's.
Sorry - don't mean to take this off-topic. I just disagree with the "Sure, they're more expensive, but mine is faster" position...
I guess I'm just confused as to why the $$$ increase. Is it - just because? I mean, perhaps if it wasn't so much more money, they would sell more than 300 of 'em.
