PPI done, do I fix the findings?

Thanks, but I was planning immediately on putting on a GT2 decklid, so I didn't think I would be using the wing function anyway. The GT2 decklid does not use that function, correct?

If you really want the car and fee comfortable with the PPI, I'd want to get the deal done- DO NOT BELIEVE that your deposit has 'held' or 'taken the car off the market': they could call you tomorrow and say "sorry, sold- we are mailing your deposit back".
Negotiate a $$ discount to cover the issues that the PPI uncovered- I'd propose 'all of it', settle for say the the 30K visit plus accumulator (or whatever you can get), and get it parked in your garage....
MY 2 cents

Buy it now! I spent 50k on my '02 w/ 25k miles, last spring..
The flash and exhaust are $3-4K, I went wit the GT2 wing as well , llighter, looks better, no hydraulics, and cold air inlet in the wing. Buy the switch to trun off the wing warning lite. Congrats, and open your wallet...

Sounds like a good deal to me - as others have said, if you really like it, get your negotiation completed and get the title.
Some things to consider: suspension to lower it a bit and rear spacers to set the tires/wheels closer to the fender.
Good luck with your purchase.

Sounds like a good deal, I paid about 47k for 19k miles, same year, same exterior color, natural brown interior, HRE 540r (18's), MaShaw GT2 wing/decklid, also got the stock decklid and wing, stock wheels (no rubber), older K40 system hardwired, GIAC Chip, and short shifter.
I do need to do some minor paint touchup, which I haven't done yet. Black is really a pain the ***, but so nice when clean.
This was about 11 months ago .. Private sale, no warranty.

My only concern now is the dealer is really trying to push the sale now and said it WOULD be an issue to wait till i can fly in and see the car. My friends and family are telling me it is stupid to buy a car this expensive before test driving it. Should I be concerned?
#22
You should look at it. I'm planning on flying 1500 miles soon to look at a car which is being PPI'ed as we speak. I wouldn't even think about buying a car unseen even with a PPI. If you lose it, it wasn't meant to be and there are other cars.

Lot's of us bought our cars without test drives. Your PPI should reveal just about everything you need to know... I didn't even PPI mine when I bought it... Ive bought a range rover, g500, lotus, and 2 porsche blindly and havent been burnt yet- It depends if you trust the seller.

THERE IS NO ASSURANCE THE PPI CAUGHT EVERYTHING, there could be many things wrong and you have zero recourse.
Who did the PPI anyway??? Please don't say it was someone the dealer recommended....

PS To comment on NOLAs comment- It depends on if the seller SHOULD be trusted, not IF you trust them!

If you dont have the time to fly down and dont have the warm and fuzzies, have another shop do a second ppi?
I bought a dd camry in TX last weekend and didnt like the tone of the dealer. I flew there to verify it!

I would NEVER buy a car based on only someone else's PPI alone- without a test drive and visual look/see.

Did you get a compression/leakdown test as well? If not you should have.
The dealership pushing the sale would have turned me off already and I would have moved on. Why are they in a rush to sell?

I agree. If they cannot wait for you to fly into town then tell him to return your deposit. There are pleny of 996 TTs out there. I would never buy any car without test driving etc. Good luck.
