911stripper has a spectacular aura about911stripper has a spectacular aura about
i had FVD's "k24 race turbos" on my car when i bought it and when i pulled them off to upgrade them to 18g's it turns out that they are standard k24 that come stock on a g50 or gt2.
i dont know why they call them "race turbos"

Nice run

I'm with Page. Wastegates! It's a huge difference... you'll see.

Read this: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-turbo-gt2/195948-giac-tuned-evo-ics-speedtech-ypipe-dyno-inside.html

the first dyno is what I ran for several years (same as yours plus wastegates). See how much more midrange and top end the wastegates make? With wastegates you will hold 1.1 to 1.2 bar to redline and the power will come on sooner and stay consistent throughout the rev range on all gears. The reason you car sometimes feels like it's faster than others is because the factory wastegates are flapping against the spring and opening prematurely.

thx ari. i am definetly down to do the wastegates. some people are telling me i MUST get a retune to run the AMS wastegates. FVD doesnt support aftermarket wastegates. Any thoughts?

funny you mention car feeling faster sometimes then others, i actually saw this phenom on the dyno when my car made 516rwp last time, on that pull i could tell boost was little different then others.....well and the car made more power.

I have about the same mods, rpi exhaust, proto tune, k24 "but not FVD" 5bar fbr, diverter valves, AWD , Tip, Same boost. I have been told that I'll get 420-430 whp , how did you got 500+ whp?

All dynos read different.

My car made 436 all wheel hp on AWE Mustang dyno a long time ago, with just k24, stock 3.8 bar fpr and a 7 year old FVD .9 bar tune. I installed a 5 bar fpr and the 1.1 bar retune. I think if I was to go back to AWE Mustang it would hit 450whp on their dyno.

However I prefer the Dynojet I used, since I have been using it for all my other cars and all of my friends use it too. Therefore my 450whp at AWE per say would not mean anything to me in comparison to my previous cars and in "car-conversations" with my friends. I do not want to be one of those people saying "well my car made X BUT if i woulda went to the dyno you went to it would have made 20% more".....that is just silly.

Dont get caught up in numbers. Use the dyno as measuring tool to see what you gain from mods

i am not sure to be honest with you. i heard different things like polished inducer, i also heard they were slightly ported. i also heard they were just regular good old oem K24s.

You should be OK without a tune. I suggest getting a brockway or durametric. As long as the A/F doesn't get out of whack you should be good.

We're not talking about anything more than getting the boost to stay consistent with what the ECU requests.

Thx. I contacted UMW, I'll see what he says. I also get "cost" on EVO stuff thru a connect here so that may be an option too. Price isn't a factor, I just want something that will help me squeeze the most out of my existing K24 setup for this season. I have a Durmatric cable. It was the first thing I bought

The last two drag races I did where I launched the car my clutch is starting to slip noticeably so I know that has to be my next step. Clutch still holds fine on rolls though. What clutch are you using?

- Clutch
- Aquamist HFS-6
- 18Gs rebuild, Injectors, Tune
